THE MAN BEHIND JOIE DE VIVRE

Hey, Nice to meet you!

I’m Antonio Fongang, the Owner and CEO of Joie de Vivre Fitness and Training, a Holistic Health Coach, and a National Master Trainer for Crunch Fitness Canada, one of the top fitness franchises in North America and worldwide. My mission is to help individuals achieve sustainable health, peak performance, and long-term well-being through a functional and holistic approach to fitness and wellness.

With a background as a Functional Holistic Practitioner, Certified Personal Trainer Specialist, and Conditioning Coach, I bring a comprehensive approach to optimizing health. My credentials also include certifications in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Timeline Therapy, Hypnosis, and Nutrition and Wellness, along with CrossFit L1 and a Second-Degree Black Belt in Shotokan Karate.

As a former professional soccer player, I’ve competed internationally in France, Switzerland, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. My experience in high-performance sports has shaped my coaching philosophy, allowing me to train elite athletes and teams worldwide as a strength and conditioning coach. This year, I was honored to be recognized as one of Canada’s Top 10 Trainers.

My Coaching Philosophy

I believe that every individual has the potential to achieve their optimal health and performance—regardless of age, background, or starting point. Over the years, I’ve worked with people from all walks of life, from professional athletes to individuals simply striving for better health. One thing remains constant: with the right mindset, training, and nutrition, real transformation is possible.

My approach is highly personalized, built around education, accountability, and sustainable progress. While not everyone has the genetics of an elite athlete, everyone can improve, push past limitations, and reach their full potential.

I see my clients as an extension of myself, which is why I work with those who are as committed to their journey as I am. My philosophy is grounded in continuous learning and growth, ensuring my clients have the knowledge, tools, and support they need to take control of their health, fitness, and overall well-being—for life.

My Approach

Many of my clients come to me looking for weight loss, while my athletes seek to enhance their performance.

At first, they achieve results—losing weight or performing better—but they often struggle to maintain their progress long-term. Even worse, they start experiencing new health issues along the way, such as gut distress, fatigue, low mood, and mental burnout from the constant pressure to see quick results.

This frustration not only affected their well-being but also made the coaching process more challenging.

The problem wasn’t their discipline—it was the approach. We were too focused on numbers, obsessing over weight or performance metrics rather than recognizing the deeper, more meaningful changes: increased energy, improved digestion, better sleep, and enhanced mental clarity. These are the real signs of lasting health and wellness.

That’s why I shifted my coaching strategy to focus on the root cause of each client’s struggles, ensuring that results are not only achieved but sustained.
